The DVD

About the DVD

Disk 1: The first disk will focus on creating a strong foundation for the student. It will cover roll casting, the snap-t and double spey cast from both sides of the river. While this disk is truly about the basics, intermediate and advanced casters will walk away with a new perspective on the minute elements that enforce strong casting.
Bonus chapters will cover an in-depth equipment talk, how to line two-handed rods and knots used for Spey fishing.

Disk 2: Disc two will build upon the fundamentals from disk one and take the audience to a whole new level of Spey casting. In addition to learning perry pokes and poke variations from both sides of the river, the focus is to give anglers the ability to adjust to changing fishing conditions and tackle requirements.
Ultimately, the viewer will walk with a better understanding how their cast directly relates to their success while fishing

      Tom Larimer – Larimer Outfitters

Outside of being one of the most respected fly fishing guides in the Northwest, Tom Larimer is at the forefront of Spey casting instruction. His easy to understand and approachable teaching style revolves around the various two-handed products he has designed. Whether chasing anadromous critters or trophy trout, Tom is passionate about helping anglers become more proficient at both casting and fishing with two-handed rods.

RA Beattie – Beattie Outdoor Productions

RA Beattie started Beattie Outdoor Productions (BOP) after graduating from the University of Puget Sound in 2005.  Long hours logged as a fly fishing guide in the mountains of Colorado throughout high school and college allows him a true insider’s look into the industry. Beattie has combined his passion for fly fishing and photography to create numerous short films about the fly fishing lifestyle.  He attended Film School at Full Sail University in 2010.  Over the years, BOP has photographed and filmed on every continent.

Steven Yockum – Beattie Outdoor Productions

Raised in Bend, Oregon, ‪Steven Yochum is the newest member of the Beattie Outdoor Production crew. Yochum’s interest in cameras peaked in high school and he’s been actively shooting digital media for the last 8 years. When he’s on the river, Yochum is usually holding a camera or fly rod (and sometimes both!). He’s equally satisfied carrying a camera or a fly rod, except during steelhead season, when the need to swing flies has been known to trump his desire to be behind the lens. ‬
